I just installed a "Happy Trigger" kit from Brownells. Stock# 981-000-017
It costs $89.95 and shipping to Ca. was $5.25.
That was the nickel finish. They have blued at the same price.
My 450 Marlin had a 6 1/2 lb. trigger pull :x
I use my (Super high tech) De-liar fish scale to check all my trigger pull weights. It's usually a half pound heavy from reality. But, the point is that the trigger pull with the happy trigger was just under 3 lbs with the happy trigger.
Now, right off the bat I'm not making points with the techies on trigger pull accuracy but I set all my triggers to just under 3 lbs per the De-Liar. It may not be to the quarter ounce but the consistancy is outstanding between ALL my rifles.
If anyone cares to hear the installation process and have a few laughs PM me and I will give you and account of the process. It's real easy but doesn't seem so untill you look back on it. It took about 30 minutes. I could now do it in about 10.

Greg,

Thanks for the heads up report. I will have to get one for my 1895 Guide gun in 45-70.
Actually the trigger is pretty good and doesn't have any creep in it. Shoots well under MOA with the Nosler 300 gr PP.
I plan on using it opening day Sunday 11/15.

Fantastic.
I'm never, it seems, blessed with light factory trigger. Let me know how the hunt goes. I'm still curious how the 45 cal does on game. I'm looking forward to a pig hunt soon to find out.
