Gotta love that crunch. Compressed load, about 1/8" below the top. 2.893" to the og. 3234 fps. avg. sub .75moa with new formed brass. 76.5gr. CCI250 primer.
Found my play load. Can't wait to see what it will do at a 1000

Oh man, that is smoking brother! I like that.

Seems your rifle is digesting everything real well.

I am looking forward to getting back out with mine again. Fotis sent me some 154 Hornady and they shot real well for no real work. Those might be a good range load as well. I guess it doesn't matter too much, haven't seen much it's shot that it didn't like decently.

Enjoying your work though. Looks great. I reread the old Hagel article on the Mashburn again last night, need to give 7828SSC a try in the old girl sometime. Looks like ol' Bob did real well with it as well.

leslil: Sounds about right to me! Looks good as well.

I found top end in my rifle with 76 Retumbo-160 gr for 3250 or so. WW brass and fed 215 primer.

That is definitely stepping right along. Very satisfying, I'll wager.

Thanks guys. This one is a real pleasure to play with. The AMax has been a pain. R22 and the 150's don't like the high temps.
I may complain but everything has been a killer load out to my max.
I'm going to give 7828ssc a try with the 150's. R22 is fast but inconsistent with temp swings. I shot a ladder with the Nosler CC, from 76 to 77 I had a ES of 8. These are also named .01 into the lands.

Can any of you guys hook me up with any article of info from the past? My google fue sucks.

This weekend I hope to run the 168 out pats 1000. Wish me luck.

I have the article, send me your email address via PM.

I have a bunch of 23. Wonder if it might be a little better than 22 with the temperature? I have some 26 as well, since 25 worked so well with 150's in the 7mm Rem Mag, I have to think it would be the same in the MSM.

Speer Reloading Manual, #2 (for Wildcat Cartridges)

160 grain bullets (24 inch barrel, 10 twist, Case: Western, Primer, Win120)

H4831 Maximum Charge 69 gr Velocity 3097
I4350 Maximum Charge 63 gr Velocity 3016

RL25, Retumbo, and H1000 are all excellent powders in the Mashburn. I have not yet tried RL26 but see no reason it should not be very good.

Here are some old pages out of the wildcat manual...

Went out today to confirm the 168gr and Retumbo load. To say I'm pleased is a under statement.
3rd shot was the low one but that was my bad. When the trigger broke I knew I was low. Anyway, I'll take it. Not to bad for "seconds" at $15 a 100.

Oh yeah, both loads looks great Les

What sorta speeds for the Dober load with 7828 and the 150?

Seems like it wants to shoot. Are you going to work with it a little.

I haven't shot Dober's load over the chrono yet. I should be able to get you some numbers by this weekend. I will be doing further testing for sure. Mark was the one that got me interested in the Mashburn. He does know the cartridge very well.

I would bet it's gotta be up over 3200 so really, I can't see much slowing that sucker down!

Yeah, I believe someone was saying he is going onto his 3rd or 4th barrel.. That's a pile of shooting!

Page and Hagel got me interested in the cartridge; Dober pushed me over the edge

Les people I have heard from using the 150 seem to be loading it to a bit over 3250,or about 100 fps faster than a top load with the 150 gr in the 7 Rem Mag. This makes sense to me as the two Mashburns we have here (between a friend and I) generally give +- 3200 fps with the 160.My 7 Rem mags have generally given about 3150 with the 150 gr bullet.

I haven't used anything lighter than 160 in mine.

Is that you, Bob?
You sound a lot like the guy that pushed me over the edge.
