Meat hunter shoots world record moose.

That is a neat story, Gerry. Congratulations to Heinz. Humility is becoming in the hunter.

Yes, there doesn't seem to be any ego in the man, pretty easy to feel happy for him. What a moose, I read on HuntingBC it is 75 1/8th across with 52" palms.

gerry, thank you for the story. That will likely keep him in meat this winter .
The 303 British has knocked down its fair share of game over the years!!!

Blessings,
Dan

And also wounded its fair share!

Very disappointed, the 303 calibre has as much to do with wounding moose as aliens are to blame for world disappearances of people. There has been many studies on wounded game lost, and the edge of most lost go to the so called big guns. Just disappointed Mike.

Sorry to disappoint. There is no question but that the .303 is sufficient for moose. However, it is not at all clear that those using the cartridge in years past did so in a wise manner. I would make the same statement concerning the .30-30, which also was used quite a bit in the Canadian context. Candidly, I have a Ross Mk II .303. I would not hesitate to use it on moose, but the shot would need to be reasonably close.

Pretty impressive, Gerry. It was impressive when I first read this; it is just as impressive at this point.

What a bull!
I just don't get tired of looking at that monster bull.
