How well does trimming the meplat on BTHP bullets really help with grouping?

It may help at extended ranges, beyond 300yds, but I can't see any difference out to 300yds.Rick.

Some HP bullet really need trimming bad, especially the SMK's
Here's the picture of a 300 SMK before and after trimming. Uniforming the meplat will eliminate bullet vertical dispersion at long range.

I think I'm going to get one of those sinclair tools and try it out with my 22-250. I shoot 52gr Sierra matchkings through it.
