Model 70 25 WSSM's

Those are nice, Scotty. The 25 was the only one of the super short magnums that drew my interest. Someone is placing considerable valuation on them.

Without a doubt Mike. But, I guess since they weren't chambered in alot of the Classic's and they aren't being chambered anymore, they can do that? Who knows.

The surest way for Winchester to start chambering them again is for me to buy one of them, they will drop the press release tomorrow.. It has happened a few times now! HA!

Uh oh, the pressure is on, Scotty. It is the same as why we are waiting for Nosler to make a 220 grain Partition for the 8mm. Man, you're depriving a whole bunch of us who would buy one of these rifles (and a lot of the 8mm Partitions).

Yes that 25WSSM is intriguing, but isn't it a twin to the 25-06 you picked up? You would be better off with that stainless Swede.

Yeah, I actually think the 25-06 is a touch faster, but yeah, they are pretty much twins. I am not actually looking for anything.

The 325WSM will come, but probably not this year. I gotta finish saving for the 338.375 to get done!

I have had all 3 of the WSSM family. I got a .223 in a Coyote, that threw the 65 SMK real well. Worked a chart to 800 yards, shot several coyotes with it, and then traded it for a wall tent. The .243 is in a Stealth II that likes the 95, 100 grain pill. Head shot a coyote across the hood at 626 yards. I still have that rifle. The 25 is in a Coyote Lite, and has a Huskemaw scope on it. I have a turret to 850 yards on it. Worked up a load with 120 grain GK, and gave it all to my Son-in-Law. He has killed several coyotes and a few Elk with it.

I would grab the SS Rifle for a donor for a .358 WSSM, that one is a little dear for a donor.

...generally speaking, most loads shown for the .25 WSSM don't reflect it's real potential w/ "designer powders" like RL-17 or Superformance, but it's more of a novelty than an "old stand-by", & has some reloading foibles, mostly due to the available brass. I bought mine more for the configuration of the rifle than the cartridge itself, but the combination hasn't disappointed me, that's fer certain...

If I would have found that little Featherweight, before the 25-06, I would have likely went with it instead.. Hard to see the future sometimes.

I am sticking with the .257 Bob. I just never caught-fire when forming the "short fats" for the accuracy level that I wanted and ease of loading that I wanted. I do not care about 100 fps difference and do greatly care about noise, powder usage and accuracy in a .257 Bob. The Roberts kills deer just as well as either of my .25-06's did. Just my $.02.

I never got much more from the 120 grain .257 bullets in the .25-06 than I did from 110 Noslers in the .257 Roberts +P. MV=3060 for 110 AB's in .257 Bob (chrono'ed), versus MV=3050 for 120 gr Partitions in .25-06, both with 24 inch barrels.

Can't say it any better Charlie.
