I am really wanting to get one of these rifles, but nobody has any of them in stock, does anyone know if they quit making the extreme weather in 7mm WSM.
Yeah i just ordered one yesterday from Able Ammo, they sent me an email today saying that they had to get one from the factory and that it would ship out to me within 5 to 7 business days. The only reason i am questioning that is because there is not another online retailer out there that has any of them in stock, and they are not even listed as one of the calibers offered for that rifle in the 2012 Winchester catalog. I just am hoping that they did not quit making them and i will not be able to get the rifle that i so desperately want, i guess i wont be satisfied until i see that it has shipped.
I thought I read on the fire that Winchester quit making them pretty early on, and I don't know why they would. That is the most attractive rifle that Team Red makes, in my opinion (at least until they start making a reasonably lightweight SS .375 H&H)...
Mine had to come directly from Winchester. Good shooter and shot 160gr Accubonds under an inch out of the box. Actually got it ready to bed into a McMillan compact edge stock.
I see them once in awhile, probably one of the most perfect mountain rifles made right now, in my opinion. Light, ton's of capability and usually very accurate.
I have been trying to talk my hunting partner into one for awhile. I have a M70 7mm WSM and love the tar out of it.
Desmick, I think that is the best of the WSM calibers for a mountain rifle certainly for deer and for some elk hunting. They are not popular which is a mystery to me frankly because they will or out do the 7mm Mag with handloads and approach the 7mm Weatherby Mag. I would think that they would be flying off the shelves?
