I finally got the JM Marlin 45-70 and my Montana 1999 7mm08 set up the way I wanted.

Montana is now wearing a Zeiss HD5 3-15 with target turrets in Talley rings and bases. Feels absolutely solid.

The Marlin has the XLR rail and has a Conquest Duralyt 1.2-5 illuminated #4. Perfection in my mind.

Will be getting them both out hopefully in the coming week to see what each likes. Have a variety of different loads to try in each.

Both look very nice. I cannot wait to see how they shoot for you. I almost purchased a Montana Rifle similar to yours only in 280 Remington or 280AI when I was considering my options for a rifle. I am excited to see in particular how that one shoots.

Looks like a job well done. I am looking forward to your range report with photos!!

Blessings,
Dan

That Montana with the HD5 just looks like it would fit my hands almost perfectly. Only one thing wrong though.
Did you know the bolt is on the wrong side?

Couple nice rigs AJ they both look like they can TCB  Congrats and hope your work issues are going ok !!

I dunno', Darkhorse, that bolt looks about right for me. Are you sure it's on the wrong side?

Nice looking setups with good scopes. Let us know how they shoot for you? They should be good-to-go!

Those two look really good AJ! What a great pair of rifles. They are about as good as you'd ever need for anything. Great work, now get to shooting!

AJ. I have another Marlin MXLR in 450 Marlin for sale if you want a pair!!!

Nice looking

That is precisely what AJ needs! A 450 Marlin would stand him in good stead.
