Picked up my new Montana Rifle Company ASR (American Standard Rifle) left hand 30-06 in blue and walnut... Very nice rifle and delivery was well within the estimated delivery.. Waiting for decent weather to start the barrel break in.. Thank you Fotis for posting the Nosler break-in recommendations. I will put them together with those received from Montana Rifle Co.

Congratulations on a fine rifle. I cannot wait to see how it does for you! Please post us up some pictures.

Congrats on the new rifle. Take a few pictures if you can. Love to see what it looks like.

Hope it is a great shooter for you.

That sounds great. For sure we would enjoy seeing a few pictures. Of course, when load development starts we will want to be there with you. Congratulations on a fine rifle.

Will get some pictures up in the near future, but may need assistance from NYDan... Oh speaking of NYDan, guess whose Birthday is Monday... And it ain't mine.. :) I have tried to post pics in the past and my lap top informs me that cookies need to be enables or some such nonsense... Dan has said he would help me with it.. If you have a chance and are so inclined please wish Dan a Happy Birthday...

Dan and I spent a good part of the day together comparing concentricity gauges, his being the Hornady and mine is the RCBS.. We measured the same loaded rounds and found different results.. Not surprising if you consider that the RCBS supports the case at the body and the Hornady supports the cartridge at the base and bullet tip.. Which gauge produces the best results to improve accuracy of the loaded round is still an unanswered question...

After a quick lunch Dan twisted my arm to start the break-in on the new Montana Rifle which I had brought along to show him.. We suspect that the Weaver 2 piece bases were misaligned slightly and I had difficulty getting on a box about 16" square at close range.. I have examined the bases closer upon returning home and believe that I have them straightened sufficiently. In hindsight I should have bore sighted the rifle and scope before going to see Dan, but I had not intended to start break-in until Monday, but given the problem, it was a good thing I had Dan's reinforcement.

I've learned to post pictures via my cellphone.
Take a picture with your phone then type your thread on your cellphone and click on the + button on the left. Then insert your image.

Roland's new rifle is a beauty! I really like the left-handed controlled feed action. It is a quality made rifle. The fit and finish on all parts is excellent. I can tell you all that when I persuade myself that I "need" a new rifle, it will be one of these. I might go with the stainless steel and composite stock options though.

I believe that Roland is going to very happy with it. If not, I know where he could find a buyer......

It is a dangerous act to handle a handsome rifle that is well-built. When will you be ordering your new Montana Rifle, Dan?

That is saying a lot when it compels another to get one of the same!

I'm liking what I see from Montana. From most everything I've seen they are doing it right. Plus they will customize twist and other things if you want. Hard to beat in my book.

Congrats, can't wait to see pictures.

Well, I have some irons in the fire right now so a new rifle purchase will have to wait until some other issues are resolved. Then we will see......
