My son and I went for a hike today in Kootenai Creek just kind of scoping things out. Went back 3.5 miles in 1.5 hours. The Wilderness border is 3.2 and it's about another 5 miles to the lakes where we will likely base our camp. The lakes have some nice Cutthroat trout I hear and that sounds just yummy cooked over the fire for dinner after a hard day hunting!

Nice looking goat country, hope all works out for you this fall :)

You're sure enough in the right area, David. Looks like a beautiful day to wander through the mountains.

Wow.

Amazing what God can make when he is in a good mood. :!:

Good country. Tough country. You're likely to be way up in there when you find your goat...

A few hikes will help toughen up the feet, legs & lungs - all of which are going to be important... Thanks for sharing the photos!

Awesome country! I've hunted the Bob Marshall wilderness a few times' it doesn't get any better than that! Good luck!
