Mountain Ti mounts

So I just put new Leupold Dual dovetail mounts on my A bolt Mountain Ti. Now I see that the front mount is only contacting right where the screws are. Please help...I did not know that this gun was different than a regular A bolt...anyone know where to get the right ones?

Intersting thing, Talley shows a different P/N for the Browning Ti rifles vs the regular A-bolts????????

Yeah I just spoke with my gunsmith and he said they are different than the regular A bolt. Well, I wish I knew that before I bought the mounts. Oh, well. I am getting a set of Talley's from him tomorrow.

Well, I have the new Talley mounts on the Mountain Ti. The only thing is, my gunsmith has the gun still to do the trigger and to glass bed the whole length of the receiver. He has done my other 2 A bolts and the guy does amazing work. I love the bedding because he indexes the mounting bolts giving me the ability to separate the barrel and action from the stock to clean it at camp and not lose zero. I can't wait to get it back and shoot it. All of my Brownings shoot really really well after he gets done with them. I hope this is no different!

Did you shoot it before the alteration? I would have. Is this a total freefloat? Usually you need a pressure point with a super whippy light barrel.

It is totally free floated from the factory. The barrel looks to be of identical contour to all of my other Brownings. I have never had one need a pressure point, so I will keep my fingers crossed that this one is no different. I am just having him bed the action and leave the barrel channel as it is. I really am not bedding it just to increase accuracy, but to give me the ability to disassemble when in hunting camp and not lose zero. It has allowed me to clean my nasty, muddy, and wet gun many times when it otherwise wouldn't. The trigger is a definite necessity as I am very used to really light triggers from my competitive small bore shooting days. I hate bad triggers! I can't wait to get it back. 8)
