And the recipe for that group is...

but then again you do have a Shilen custom barrel so that means (according to my custom barrel experience) that if chambered right, it will group 90% of your loads like that.

You got a shooter!

180gr TSX in front of 84.5grs of RL-22 moving a 3200fps, Weahterby brass, CCI 250primers OAL is 3.710 and add my triger finger :):):) I would work up to this load because of lot differences and rifle differences, but mine loves this load.

Nicely done bullet. You have yourself a shooter for sure.

Yeah, this has been a real go to rifle and cartridge. It is a devastator on game. With the 4.5-14x44 Conquest it will be even better.

JD, here is the last three shot group at 100yd I shot with it and a 200yd three shot group target

So now, are you keeping the 300 and getting a 375? What about the 270-300? decided to shelve the expensive wildcats, or just decided to be a three rifle man?

dubyam, I just got tried of forming brass, tweaking loads and even I had to almost do it every time I loaded a bunch of new rounds. Barrel life, the expense and time. I have regressed back to my 300Wby and a 375Wby something basic and think I will just shoot and hunt with these two and make life simple. Tired of trying to find the illusive all around cartridge and rifle. I think I will just hunt with what works and has worked for such a long time. I am not going to do the 270-300Wby for the same reason and transferred the money on it to buy back my 300Wby. I know it is like a soap-opera, something new every episode. That is how it has been but I am tired of building rifles and load development, I just want to hunt and shoot on occasion if you can understand where I am coming from. Plus when I make a trip overseas I will have two rifles I can carry that have matching factory ammo which is required in some countries that will not let you bring a wildcat.

Roger that, Bullet. I am of similar mind, though I don't want to restrict myself to only a couple of rifles. I don't think there is a single perfect rifle, even if you were only chasing game on this continent. There are just too many variables, and in some situations around here, my 94 Winchester in 30-30 is truly ideal (like your 350RemMag), but in some situations, my 270Wby is ideal. There is no way one could have it both ways in my experience. One thing's for sure, having multiple rifles for different environments makes bullet choice much easier, as I can tailor the bullet to the situation, instead of trying to find that one bullet that will expand perfectly at 1500fps (waaaaaaaay out there) but also not blow up at 3500fps (when a bow would do the job).

We really ought to look at getting together to hunt a bit sometime this fall...

dubyam, I would really like that. Hey, buy the way I have a brand new box of 140gr TSX's and a brand new box of 150gr TSX's that I was going to use with my 270-300Wby. If you want them send me a PM and your address and in the next two weeks or so I will send them to you. I think that my 22-250, 300Wby and 375Wby will cover all my needs and then some. Thanks for the offer to get together this fall, I would really like that. Later

So did you get rid of the 350RemMag, too? It sure was a nice looking rifle the way you had it set up.

PM sent, btw.

Yes the 350 Rem Mag was nice rifle but it was not a Mark V which I prefer so I sold it and I used the money to purchase a Conquest for my 300Wby and a Conquest for my 375Wby. As I said, the Ruger 22-250, the Mark V 300Wby Custom and the Mark V 375Wby Custom will handle my load. I only want a few to load for and hunt with. Saves money, time, energy and the problem of choosing between a couple of rifles for a hunt that really over lap each other. I like it simple especially when I am in the field.

Here is Thor's Hammer after I clean it up and repainted the stock and mounted the Zeiss. Thought you would want to see.
