.375 Weatherby Is Finished

That is to funny Big Squeeze. Yeah, I know it will tighten up. Could hunt with it right now but you know me got to get the load at least under and inch at 100yds. :) Sure wish I could find some 300gr Nosler Accubonds to try.
..................Curious!.......How come you left off the front and rear iron sites? N/A with that barrel?.......If you ever hunt the real dangerous stuff in closer quarters?? You may want to switch over to your Weaver 1x3?....Just curious!

I have always found that interesting when people say you need open sights to hunt the real dangerous stuff up close. Well if I get that close I will look right down the barrel just like I did on a big hog that got to close. He broke out of the thick bush on me and I looked right down the the side of my barrel and killed him. Also with a four power fix scope killed one at no more than 10yds another time. I like my BDC Zeiss 3-9 and gives me a lot of latitude. I can take short shots, and standard shots out to 350 then using my hold over BDC marks and shoot form 400 to 600yds. I have not done that with this rifle and scope yet but will shoot some 400yd plus when I dial in my load and zero my rifle. :)

I will go again tomorrow morning but by the time the range opens and I get setup I will only be able to shoot about 9 rounds again before I have to head out to work but it beats not shooting at all. Seated my rounds a little deeper this time to give the TSX a good jump. Anybody know where one could get his hands on some 300gr Accubonds. I would really like to try that round in my 375Wby. I know Nosler makes them but have not found any. Well, I thought they did or thought I read it somewhere but when I went to their sight to order direct from them there were not any 300gr Accubonds for .375 only 260grs. :?:

......................Sure! You don`t need open sites to hunt dangerous game! But in closer quarters, open sites or a scope set on 1x or 1.5x, with both eyes open aiming capabilities, having wider FOV`s (like your V3), will be faster to the target and make for quicker acquisition than will your Zeiss set on the 3x...... Whatever targeting speed you can get out of your Zeiss set on 3x, your V3 will still be faster for the charging dangerous game should that ever occur! For longer ranges, the Zeiss is great............. I guess that I don`t consider a 3x9 variable, the best variable for a DGR, especially when 4x to 5x on the high end, is more than adequate for any large game hunted with any .375 at the ranges or average guided shooting distances at which they would normally be hunted............

All you have said is true, I just really wanted this scope for this .375 because I will use it for some long shots as well and 3 power is ok with me. Plus my strong eye is my left eye and I am right handed so I have closed my left eye since I was a boy. I have learned to throw up both eyes open then close my left eye and the cross hairs are right on what ever I was looking at and I have made some very close shots that had to be made. I think I will really like this scope and set up. It gives me a lot of options when doing different hunts. One thing I noticed today is that my .375Wby seemed more abrupt in recoil with a 300gr TSX than did my .416Wby with a 350gr TSX, seemed kind of strange. I know one thing and that is I do not want to shoot a .375Wby at the bench without a brake.

.........The recoil is more snappy!! I have yet to shoot 300 grainers with my 375 Ruger! I suppose I`ll have more recoil than the factory 270`s which is all I`ve shot!......As agreed to, I`m not using my Alaskan in order to preserve it for my neighbor who is buying it. Only 40 rounds thru it!.........

After a box of 300gr TSX's have been fired through it and I have not clean the barrel since I started with the first round just so I could learn how smooth this barrel was buy seeing how long it would go without copper build up from the 300gr TSX's, and to my amazement it has gone through a whole box and is still grouping very well. I just love this Mark V Custom .375Wby and my Zeiss Conquest scope. This rifle is so well balanced in my hands and throws up so easy and is on target when it gets to my shoulder. But what I like the most about about the Mark V receiver and the Shilen barrel is that these following targets shows so far the largest group I have fired with the 300gr TSX since I corrected OAL and that is .874" the last target in the pictures.

Yes JD, I believe that you are correct on that one and this rifle is so cool and I am so glad I found the right OAL. It is also a very smooth barrel. :)

The entire package, action, chambering, scope, stock, everything is very
impressive.

Thanks nomosendero, I planned a long time and wanted to put something together that would be real special and it has certainly turned out special. :)
