Well i went and picked up my new Winchester M70 Sporter 270 WSM today, and DrMike said i should post a picture of it, so here it is right after her first cleaning.

Nice, but I gotta ask: what's up with the Christmas ornament?

honestly i was so into what i was doing with my new toy that i did not even realize it was there until i took the picture, nothing gets buy you guys though.

yeah i was at Wholesale Sports today and they had one in stock, so i just said screw it and bit the bullet and got the thing, i am pretty sure that i will not have any regrets, because if it shoots as good as it looks i will be one happy camper.

Very nice rifle. I think you picked a winner in my favorite cartridge as well. Can't wait to see your range reports!

That is very nice looking! You are correct, these guys don't miss a beat either! The smallest little thing and they will be on it like there's no tomorrow. It makes it look festive!

I gotta stay out of that place! If I get out for under $50, I feel lucky!

That is a great looking rifle and the caliber is one of the best.
It might just be my next project 8) but the bolt will be put on the proper side

Blessings,
Dan

Nice looking rifle. What glass are you going to mount?
What loads do you plan on using?

All aforementioned scopes are winners in my mind.

Nice rifle, good choice on caliber (.270 wsm) as well!..I'm sure it'l be a shooter too.

I am thinking of one of these four scopes, and 130 grn AccuBond, Interbond or Scirocco using either IMR4350 or RL17, it will be for deer hunting and maybe a backup elk rifle, i am leaning towards the AccuBond with IMR4350 to start out with

I am with the others. All those scopes are winners for SURE!

Don't forget Magpro and RL22 with the 130's buddy. You can hit pretty close to 3400 with the 130 AB's and IB's outta your rifle. That would make one excellent rifle, although, running 150's at over 3100 makes a good load too, especially if elk are on the menu. Can't wait to see what scope you get. Those are all about the same scopes I am looking at for my 300.

I do have some Magpro and RL19 but no RL22, i will see what kind of groups and speeds i get with the powders that i have, i am pretty sure that they will work just fine and be some pretty safe loads to use.

Magpro works REALLY well in the 270WSM. I wished I had my targets shot with the 130 IB and Magpro, but they were really good. I wanna say I was somewhere around 72 grains in mine, with WW brass and CCI250's. That Interbond is a great bullet as well. It was fast. I bet RL19 would do just about as well too..
