My father in law wants me to load for his 264 win mag. I have two pounds of 7828ssc . Can someone run a quick load withthat and the 140 grain AccuBond and 140 Partition? Any help with good loads for a 264 win mag is appreciated.

Thanks

Muzz, 7828 worked pretty well with the 140 BT and ABs for me. Wasn't quite as fast as RL25 but you should easily top 3100 without leaning on it.

If you don't have data I'll run it in the morning for you.

I tried some IMR 7828 SSC in my 264 WM and it worked fine, Retumbo is my go to powder though in this gun. IMR 7828 is a good powder and many people use it and are happy. Will be neat to see what Quickload says about it.....

I've had some luck with the Sierra 120 grain SPT and H4831.

I'd have to look but I think I went up to 64-65 grains of 7828. It was pretty decent in my rifle accuracy wise. Anything over 3100 is gravy with those long 140's. Doesn't look impressive till you run the numbers out to 500-600 yards. They slip the air real nice.

My brother's first rifle was a used Herter's Mauser in 264wm. Those long skinny Sierra and Nosler 140's are bad medicine for deer. We pretty much only used IMR 4350 in both his and my 280. I'm sure some of the modern slow burning powders would be faster. I still want a 6.5 gun. Good luck with it.

thanks everyone. I just need to find some bullets. That isn't going to be easy.
