Well, whatever is more feasible, whether its 65K or 63K is fine with me. I'm using Winchester Brass. Thanks! My favorite rifle Range has been shut down for weeks! AARGH!!!

Near Maximum !the 300 WSM was built around Winchester 760 and 780 and very high fill ratios. its interesting that QL maps max at 68.9gr, the Hodgdon site 66gr but barnes data for this bullet is 70.8 Compressed!! I loaded pretty hot when it first came out and there wasn't much data on it. My go to load is 67.5gr with just about any 150gr bullet(NBTs,AB or Interbond was the usual for me). This load duplicates original factory 150gr winchester offerings in both my rifles. Accuracy is superb and lethal on big Missouri whitetails.

I was born and raised just north of Columbia. The whole family still lives within 20 miles. I joined the navy seabees and left at 17, never moved back still hunt there. I did basic in August as well...in San Diego. it just happened to be one of the hottest summers on record.

My rifle has the Match Grade chamber, its on the tight side. I was able to get good accuracy with 69.5/Big Game and 65.5/R16, both a couple grains below QL/Barnes listed Max loads. This was with the 150 TTSX. Didn't clock it but it would put 2 shots an inch apart and the third cut the one on the right ( horizontal, gusty wind.) 70 deg. new WW prepped brass. Fed 215M

Hey Doc- I was able to shoot the 168TTSX/R17 loads today. It had turned off hot ( for us) 83 deg at the range) and I was just shooting 3 rd groups. New WW cases (prepped) and Fed 215M.
64gr went into a tiny .40" linear cluster, (1 & 2 went .60" and 3rd hit in center) 65gr went into a nice, rounded .75" group. 66gr went into 1.5 rounded group. Can Quickload give some "ball park" speeds at these two charges (pretty please?) Thank you sir! Rev Jim

Thats what I got by interpolating Barnes' load data also. I don't see alot of difference between 3000 and 3050fps, do you? ha. Then again, since this rifle has a tight chamber, I may be running closer to 3100fps. I am still going to run all my best loads from all three rifles over the chrony, just for grins. I don't shoot past 375 or so even if I "have to". 150-200yds is more my liking. Thank you pard, Rev Jim

Finally got to clock these loads today. The 300WSM/R17 64gr/168 TTSX went 3167fps and repeated its accuracy! The 300 Win Mag/R23 73gr/175 LRX went 3081 and also kept its accuracy. The 270 R16/53.6/129 LRX did not. I went on up, easily to 54.5 and got 4 rounds into 1 1/2". for 3160fps. I will seat them a little deeper and try again. 2 out of 3 ain't bad...according to Ol Meatloaf!
