The weather has finally made a turn for the better and my kid actaully asked if we could go shooting today. It's been cold enough all winter than he has kept fairly close to the house after our first coyote outing.

I had new loads for the .260 & a fresh bedding job on the .223 VTR - He didn't need to ask twice.

I ran out of RL-19 trying to get it to shoot in my .280 and model 7 .260 so never gave the M700 a chance. I purchased another can and loaded a stiff load with the 130rg A-bond as well as some 130gr VLD's.
I think I've found my powder  Unfortunately the saying of 3 shots test the gun, 5 test the shooter is so true. I cleaned the gun really well once hunting season was over so the first flier wasn't a supprise. The next three were phenominal - ok, the pressure is on.... I choked !

I only loaded two rounds each of the VLD's, but will play with them a little more as well.

Powerstroke,

Your son looks pretty good with his rifle, a natural!

The 45.0 gr load is great! Nicely done my friend.

Powerstroke,

It is good to see your son shooting. JD is correct; he looks like a natural. The loading data will give me a place to begin when I get the 260 I have ordered. The 130 grain AB should be an excellent bullet in that cartridge. Thanks for posting the pictures and the data.

Thanks - now to keep him away from the girls and cars and I'll have it made - bribe him with guns ??

The .260 is just an easy one to shoot - headed back up early a.m. to attempt to get one of those 130gr A-bonds to connect on a yote !

That's a losing proposition, but with the grounding in riflery, he will likely return to it (if he every leaves it behind).

Good stuff! I am a big 260 fan, the 130 AB looks like an excellent bullet if I ever run out of 120NBT's.
