BretN, I love the rifle.. Light weight, recoil isn't terrible (but it isn't for the "light in the loafers" type), and it fits me AWESEOME, but not crazy about the magazine, I would rather have a floor plate but I was on a budget and over looked that.

FOTIS,, the 180gr you mentioned, do you mean a ballistic tip or the Partition? Also whats the difference between a 180gr Partition and a 180gr PP Partition???

JD338,, Wanted to try the RL powder with this current load but cant find that powder up here.. Took me a while to find the IMR4350 and then when I did find it I had a co-worker friend get it that lived near the shop. It was about an hour from my house..

I'd be okay with 4350 if that is all I had for the 300 Win. Looks pretty good across the board.

Also, the 180 PP is made for the 300 Win Mag. It's ogive is a little further forward for the standard mag box in most 300 Win's. Allows a little more seating flexibility.

Unless you are running a tough 150, I'd steer away from them myself. You don't gain a whole lot since they have much less BC than even a 168 or 180. The 300's really seem to thrive on the 180's and above. I'd shoot deer all day long with 180 PT's. If they run at all, it'll be short bloody trip..

I've shot several deer with a 300wm with 150gn factory ammo the cheap stuff too (never lost a deer )winchester power max and black talons back in the day ... bust that rib cage and alway find them .. now that Ive seen the ways of reloading I agree with others and I'd shoot a nosler AB
Good luck on tighten that load up a bit and good luck next hunting season
