While at Cabela's on Saturday I found a Marlin 336C .35 Remington in immaculate condition. I had always wanted one but didn't find any for years. Naturally, I brought it home with me. It's a recent production gun but had no blemishes and had a Leupold one piece base installed.

I bought a set of rings and installed a Bushnell 2-7x scope on it. I would have liked to buy a new scope for it but medical bills from a recent bout of kidney stones  squashed that idea :( :( .

I also picked up dies and two boxes of factory ammo for it, Remington 200 gr CL's and Hornady 200 gr Flextips. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Two questions: 1. Has anyone tried the Remington factory load with 150 CL's on paper or animals? 2. Does anyone have favorite recipes for their .35's they would be willing to share? So far I only have some of the 200 gr. Flextips for reloading. (Edit: I just saw the 35 Remington bullet test post in the Bullet Test section)

Congrats on the 35 Rem. The 200 gr SPCL is about the best bullet
you can use.

Seriously, a post like this and no pics? Are you trying to torture us? :)

Sounds like a good addition, Ron. I know that Scotty likes his and Fotis has spoken highly of one he owned. Pictures would be welcome, without a doubt.

The - THE - place to check out for 35 Rem reloading is the Marlin Owners Forum. A gentleman who goes by 35remington (really) has done extensive testing of bullets (the test you saw) as well as powders. I keep subscribed to my favorite 35 Rem reloading threads there not because I want to know if someone comments, but rather I go to them and use them as a resource.

I'm working on LVR powder and Speer 220s right now.

200gr RN + 38.5grs H4895 is fantastic in mine.

For a bit more oomph 40.5grs is just as fatastic but I stay @ 38.5grs. Works with Hornady 200RN and Remington 200 RN.

I have some 220 Speers but have not loaded them in my 35 Rem.

I'm working on pics, fellas, but I'm having some technical issues, plus my camera is loaned out with crime scene photos. I hope to have it back today and the issues fixed soon and will post them ASAP.

Thanks for all the help/input!!

Ron

Well, I suppose the crime scene photos thing is a reasonable excuse...

Congrats Ron, that one is on the bucket list over here as well. Looking forward to the pics and your load development.

That is a interesting calibre  congratulations on the new rifle. I am looking forward to photos & a range report or two!!

Blessings,
Dan
