Yes, the bolt is on the wrong side.

Here’s my most recent custom. It’s my second fast twist 25-06.

Specs:
Defiance Classic LH LA, 75° bolt throw
26” Shilen #4, 1:7t
Bell and Carlson sporter
Stainless BDL
40x trigger
Defiance 20moa rail
Warne Maxima horizontals, low
Leupold VX-R 4-12x40 windplex firedot

It weighs 8 lbs, 14 oz without the bipod.

I built it as my ultimate western Kansas beanfield/open plains rifle. Will be loading 107gr Hammer HBCs when they arrive.

Still have to do some stock modifications, mainly the ejection port cutout and bedding

Enjoy.

While I don’t own a 25/06 I’m a big fan of that classic. I’m convinced a fast twist and more long bullets will really make the old cartridge shine. I guided a woman 4 years in a row a few years ago that used the old classic. She took four elk with four shots using 120 gr. Partitions. Looking forward to your results.

My previous 25-06s were all set up with 115gr partitions and they were all point and kill, practically. I will try the 120 in this one, set it up with retumbo and see how it rips.

Lots to like about that rig especially since it's a lefty. Pretty hard to beat a fast twist 25-06 for deer sized game anywhere. Beautiful gun!

Good looking rifle. I like the lines of the stock. Too bad the bolt handle is on the wrong side. Oh well, I can shoot reasonably well left handed if I have to. 😎
