New Guys here!

Now, Kurt. You don't need to chime in. Seems as if you do pretty well at fostering this malady without any help!

Nah, man, I'm just an innocent victim!
That's right BK, us and others like us are the victim's here! :p The good doctor helps us out whenever and as much as he possibly can. You recall him saying buy it David, just buy it when I made mention my longing to replace the .280 Remington I so foolishly sold after telling that I had drawn a goat permit? See it's selective memory with the good Doctor I believe!
David

Selective memory? At my age I'm lucky if I can remember .... what were we talking about?

How you enjoyed us all so much you were going to buy us all M70 Sporters in our favorite chambering! Yeah, that's it!

I like where your going with that Kurt! Scotty

When I come up stairs with a rifle my wife asks me how many do I own and I always tell her just this one dear
But she came downstairs the other day to help me move my new safe and wanted me to open it boy was that a mistake
Had to think quick and blamed the shooting Pastor from British Columbia  Really my wife is great about it in fact last night she put some Elk chops on the BBQ. While we were eating she advised that me she was glad I got drawn for Elk cause the freezer is getting low :(

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

That's not thinking quickly; that's thinking deviously. It's alright, fellows, I have broad shoulders (and an expanding girth to support them).

Mike I am sorry for that but somethings just have to be protected
My wife could care less how many rifles I own one of these days I am going to have to write down my inventory.
I really enjoy this group of people  a real good bunch with excellent knowledge.
Keep up the stories guys and the joking is great too...

PS your not the only one struggling with a grown midsection been really trying for a month to drop some weight can't do it like I used to, but seeing a little success

Blessings,
Dan

Hey, sorry for the absence, I've been having some crazy weeks. Haven´t nbeen shooting in over 3 months or so (new baby at home and chasing her older brother around plus trying to keep the wife happy account for most of it :p).
Glad to be welcomed so warmly... it did seem a vry nice forum when I found it...
so more background:
Most of my dove hunting has been done in Peru, and I guess all of my ducks too :)
Some mornings you can shoot over a 100 birds, more if its a good place, I've run out of sheels more than once.
Rifles
shot 22LR in friendly competitions for a few months
the 7mm RM, got a savage cause that what one friend of a friend sold me... then I got hooked. The sucker does punch subMOA groups with Federal Premium and 160gr PT and I am trying to replicate it with my reloading, hopefully it wil pan out.

My loads for that gun are 150BT, 60-61gr of IMR4831 and Rem 9 1/2 M primer on WW brass. Have to tweak them more and try to run them faster, but the 60gr load hit 2860 fps. I do think that is the lower node.

The 160PT also gives about 1" inch groups, with 62.5-63gr RL22, they fly at about 2900fps. with Federal Brass and the same primers. 64gr has also shown potential, but I have only restarted reloading and not done a bunch of it yet, so more to come when I have time.

So, again thanks for all the welcoming and I will try to resist with clenched teeth the temptations to expand my arsenal... although I already want a 243...heheh3

Congratulations on the growing family. A man with children is indeed blessed, though at times it doesn't feel as if that were true. Trust that in time you'll be able to get the rifles you want, especially the .243. Until then, the .22 and the 7mm RM will do a great job of covering the spectrum of almost any shooting task required. That sounds like a couple of fine loads for your centrefire. You are correct that the BT load is a bit on the slow side, but it is more than adequate to take down deer size game at moderate ranges. Again, good to have you aboard this slow boat to financial ruin that tempts so many to succumb to the dreaded RADD.
