Tim here, aka CWO4USCGRET (Retired Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer 4 and also a Retired Customs and Border Protection Officer). I learned to shoot in the early 1960s as a lad at the local YMCA on Saturday Mornings. I think it was $.15 for 10 rounds of .22 Long shot prone with single shot rimfire bolt action rifles. After the military and while working for CBP I started feeding my addiction by buying hand guns, rifles, shotguns, and the assorted gear we all "need".

Spotted an "interesting" rifle on the website of one of my local gun shops here in San Antonio, TX so of course I had to have it! A Nosler M-48, chambered in 26NOS. It has a OPTIKA6 MeoPro 2.5-15x44 scope mounted on it. As soon as I can get some ammo for it I will take it to the range and see what I can do with it.

Now, what model do I have? Dark grey stock, random black marks, black barrel, bolt, etc. - SN: N93XXX range.

Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of great people here who can be very helpful. I look forward to seeing the results of your shooting.

Welcome! There is a wealth of knowledge among the members, and it is always interesting to share and read others perspectives on different subjects. I'm 74 and I think I learn something new every time I login.

Welcome to the forum. Not to give you a push, but I know a guy who has a quantity( I think 100) of new 26 Nosler brass and a set of dies that could be sent to you to get you started. I had one of these ordered a number of years ago, but ended up canceling the order due to handful of reasons. I got the brass and dies and they've never been used. Shoot me a PM if you acquire the rifle and need a jump start. Happy to help.

This is the “3rd” rifle I have that is chambered in 6.5mm; in addition to a 6.5 Creedmoor AR Upper I also have a Savage Model 110, Desert Tactical in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Time to buy some 26NOS Ammo and as Troy on Swamp People says: “Choot it!” For Christmas my wife bought me a Winchester Model 70 chambered in .300’Winchester Magnum!

Hello!
The 6.5's are a great caliber and a lot of fun to shoot and hunt with. (I have the CM, the Swede and the PRC myself...and the wife has a CM)
Gotta love a giving wife that supports your passion! 😎 (Mine bought me a Sako in 6.5 Swede)
