Been looking for the limited edition Remington 260 for a few months. None of the stores in Minnesota had been able to find one. I was working in Montana for the week and stopped in a shop in Billings to see what they had and sure enough, I'm $900 dollars poorer!! I think I have every cartridge that has been made based off the .308 that isn't a wildcat now. Now I have something new to work loads up for this winter when there aren't any yotes to chase!! I am justifying this as a purchase for the next generation. If anyone has some pet loads for this, please send them my way.

Very good cartridge, I know you will have a lot of fun working up loads and playing with your new toy.

Congratulations on your 260 Rem. Powerstroke and a few others have some good data for you, stay tuned.

257,
Congrats on a beautiful gun and AWESOME cartridge !

First thing I think I'd do is call Midway ASAP and attempt to get your hands on some Nosler Brass for it. I've been having a very difficult time finding any type of brass. ( I have two.. a model 7 "wifes" and a 700 )
The 700 has turned into my favorite gun / caliber etc.

Can't say I have a "pet" load for mine as POP gave me some info and I've played with the Nosler #6 guide and Sierra Guide.
A max charge of H414 & 100gr B-tips makes nice little clover-leaf shapes for me. Also starting to have some decent luck with Viht N-140 & the 130gr A-bond. The A-bond is a deep penetrating bullet with that high B.C.!
Not sure what the twist rate of the barrel is ??
The 100 / 120 grn b-tips would be some great winter yote loads

Congrats! Great cartridge and very underrated! One of my favorites!

PM me for loads when you decide on bullet weight. BTW the 130 AB or my personal favorite the 125 Partition work great for most everything!

Would love to see a 140 A-bond! That weight (and ability to retain that weight) with the sectional density it would have seems like a winner to me.
I wouldn't feel under-gunned for anything except big bear on this continent.

257....

The 140 grain A-bond has been anounced and "hopefully " maybe ??? the first part of next year ??? we'll see.

We've taken I believe three elk with the wife's .260 M7. The last one just a tad over 300yds

What is the twist rate on that barrel do you know?

You used the 260 on elk successfully ..... with what loads?

The 260 is more than capable of taking elk just like the 7mm08 is and they are great cartridges.

You gotta love the big sectional density of the 6.5's. I was absolutely dumbfounded the first time I bagged a deer with a 264 win. The factory ammo isn't really much hotter than the 260, but that 140 Corlokt did more damage than a 7mm Rem. I would love to see what that thing does to Elk with a 130 or 140 Abond!!

I love the 264 this buck was taken at 501 yards with 125 partitions at 3350 fps with rl 25. Winchester 264 win mag Super Grade!

That was a great shot POP 8)

Hey, if you still have your 416Wby I have something I would like to send you for your truck. I it is a trailer hitch replacement that looks like the stamped and primed bottom of a 416Wby cartridge you can use in place of your trailer hitch when you are not towing something behind your truck. The shaft is aluminum and the round bases looks like the bottom of a 416Wby cartridge and that part is brass with 416Wby Mag engraved like the bottom of a Weatherby cartridge and the primer is stainless steel. Really looks cool. If you still have your 416Wby and would like the hitch replacement, PM me with and address to send it to.

257,

I am a another 260 lover. I use it for everything inside 300 yards.

You asked for pet loads. My favorite for Deer and such is the 120BT over 45.5g of RL19 with Fed 210M primers.

I too, have shot elk with the 260 and it worked very well. Mine was a neck shot with a 130TSX over 36 grains of Varget. This was pre-Acubond or eTip
