New Ruger 35 Whelens available

Very nice. You'll never lose money on them, that's for sure.

Any idea on the twist used with the Ruger?

Can't wait to hear a range report. How are you planning to set it up?

That is a great price. I doubt that you will ever lose on that rifle . The 35 Whelen is very easy to load for as well, this talking from my limited experience.
I sure hope that a few more of this Forum family decide to pick up this rifle in a great calibre (y).

Blessings,
Dan

any idea if they made any left handed? my brother-in-law has been talking about his need for a 35 whelen but he's a lefty

Called Ruger. It has a 1:16 twist. I'll either put a Leupold 2.5x8 or a 6x36 on it and call it done. I plan to shoot either 225 grain Partitions or Accubonds whichever it likes better.

It will work fine even with 250's. Other than one black bear with the old 250 gr RN factory load everything else I have shot with the Whelen has been with a 225 gr bullet and the last couple years the 200 gr AccuBond. You will be in fine shape with either of those 225 gr bullets on anything in North America (and a lot of other places too).
