New scope on the 416 Taylor Imp. And seating test on the 6.5

Decided i wanted a little more magnification on my 416. Could not find a leupold vx3i 2.5-8 to save my life. So I decided to try the vx freedom line in 2-7. Ive had one vx freedom on a 9.3x62 for a while now with good luck. So maybe it will hold up hopefully. After getting it set I shot a group, and this big bore mauser still impresses me with its accuracy. Also wanted to re do some seating depth test in my howa 6.5 CM. Two of the four loads averages about what my current load does which is in the .3's. So I prolly won't mess with it anymore, I have not decided yet.

Thanks DrMike, maybe one day I can hunt something to justify feeding that 416 lol. Seems expensive for punching paper haha.

When I do a seating depth test like this I have found that repeating the exact same test often results in a different outcome. A single test is rarely conclusive IMO. Just something to consider.

Oh I believe you. I was so hot, sweaty, and tired yesterday by the time I got to that test it prolly wasn't fair to the load. Getting my skull kicked loose by that 416 probably didn't help either [emoji16]
