new scope

There wasn't much comment on Burris scopes. I don't own any, but I noticed on my last trip to the gun-shop that they are within $50 of some Leupold scopes. Are they mostly ok on light recoiling rifles or will they withstand an 8# .300 Win. Mag. cartridge ?

All my rifles currently carry Leupold scopes. Never a problem.

I have 2 Burris Fullfields in the 3-9X40. So far, they are working very well, I have one on my Ruger 338WM, I have not had any problems so far-
I feel that the Burris gets left out of alot of glass comparisons on this forum, for the money(around 200 bucks) they are hard to beat. That being said, I have not had the opportunity to try the new Leupold VX-I or Rifleman series.
I am kind of an experimenter when it comes to scopes, I own VariXIIIs, old VariXII's, burris's, a slew of Kahles, and 3 swarovski's.
For excellent resolution and brightness(especially during twilight) I prefer the Swarovskis, the Kahles have been VERY tough in my experience, and for the really hard kickers, I prefer the VariXIII.
