New to me - 338-06 AI

Worked into a deal and ended up with a Thompson Encore barrel in 338-06 AI.

Came with fire formed brass and dies and a few hand loads.

Looked around here and found load data. Just finished making some 210 PT with RL-15.

Will have to wait until next weekend for range time, but the 338-06AI adds some punch to my Encore set-up

Great cartridge! It should be a lot of fun to play around with. Midway has some 185gr interlock obverruns super cheap that should be great in the 338/06

I bought some of the Midway bullets for my 338 Federal, but they would be great in the 338-06 AI as well.

I have a 30/06 that I’m just unhappy with , I keep thinking of doing a 338/06. Maybe someday.

little range time to determine the right, then chrono it.

It is an TC Encore so the barrel is long (26 inches) compared to the length of the overall rifle, thus should gain a little speed.
