A very potent combo right there.I have killed one deer with the 130gr Barnes TTSX and it ran about 15 yards. My 308 likes BL-C2, CFE 223 and TAC with the 130 TTSX. Good luck and happy hunting!

Ahhh, Savage 99. I have my grandfather’s 300 as well. I love that you’re having it restored. They shoot sweet. So old school. There must be something in the water for short action .30’s! I just bought a 788 Remington .308 and am currently getting my grandfather’s 99EG .300 Savage restored.
I killed my first few deer and one cow elk with that old Savage. It’s pretty well been out to pasture lately but getting it restored will get it back in the lineup. I can’t wait to show it to Dad. You are German, too?Congratulations on the score, Jim! The 308 is meat and potatoes here in Germany. Seems like just about everyone here shoots one.
