Newfy Moose going to NY!

Pretty funny, the tears were running down my cheeks! Great that the Newfies that I know are good natured about it! The phone pole joke got me!

Two Newf brother bought a donkey at from their neighbor…they were so proud…
They led the donkey back to their farm and when they attempted to put him in
the barn the donkey’s ears touched the top of the door and they donkey would
not go into the barn…they pushed and pulled but every time his ears hit the top
of the door he would stop and go no further…

They studied and pondered what to do and finally decided that they needed to
jack up the barn which would raise the door and they donkey’s ears would not
touch…so they got a couple of car jacks and started to jack up the barn…about
this time an American happened by and after watching a bit asked what they were
doing…the two Newfs explained about the donkey not going into the barn because
his ears touched the top of the door and so they were jacking up the barn…

The American said that they could probably accomplish their goal easier by
digging a trench below the door and walk the donkey through that way…they
agreed and got a couple of shovels and started to dig…as soon as the
American walked away, they threw down the shovels and grabbed their jacks
again exclaiming “Stupid American, its his ears that are too long, not his
legs”…

Cheers/bg

Excellent! Those Newfies know what they're doing. Truthfully, they are a most resourceful people that managed quite nicely on The Rock for many years without help from Canada. Many Americans aren't aware that they only joined Confederation in 1949; some Newfoundlanders still think that was a mistake. Those who know the natives know them to be hardy and resourceful. Still, we love to tease them.
