Nice Model 70 Featherweight in .280!

That is just like mine, and about the same model year. It is in great condition from the pictures. Mine is certainly a shooter.

Nice rifle, but would immediately have to ditch the scope and mounts. Doesn't really matter, I can't afford it right now anyway.

I was thinking of you when I posted this, Scotty.

Sorry man...had to do it!

Thanks RR! That is a sharp rifle. I can always hope Winchester chambers the 280 again. I think one of them would be super for my wife.

I guarantee that were I living in the States, I'd pick up this rifle. Where's David? Man, it is right in his neighbourhood!

That's hard to look away from. The lines on a Winchester Featherweight are designed to appeal to the senses and function like and extension of ourselves. Dr Mike you are a wise man to have picked up on one of these beauties. Someday, someday I will too.

that was a decent deal. I saw that a couple weeks or so ago. I bought one of those back in the late 80's. I turned it into a 280 AI last year..
never mind my post, I thought it was a different rifle at a dealer. The one I saw still had a Win trigger tag, new rifle.

glane5910,

I believe that is the one that was confirmed to be a push feed. I had one of those, and it shot amazingly well.

My current CRF model shoots equally well, but it did take a bit of work to get it where it is now. They are a handsome rifle.

I'd like to have one with CRF(like I really need another rifle). I've got 2 of the Classic CRF, one 338 Win mag with the BOSS and the 375 H&H..
The FW are certainly a great looking rifle.

I've been working with my Model 70 Classic in .25-06, and am on the verge of finalizing the load which is a 75-grain V-Max propelled by Ramshot Hunter at 3700 fps or better. Last time out I had a 5-shot group that measured under 3/4 inch out of one of the final contestsants, two others shot well but I was having a bit of trouble at the bench and intend to shoot those loads over again. Too many distractions that day!

Anyway, There's nothing not to like about the new 70 Classics. Function is smooth and flawless, they have the best safety design out there (IMO), they are handsome rifles, and they are all endowed with accuracy potential. Mine is shooting as it came out of the box.

I like the 25-06. Post how that load shoots. I'm working on a Rem 760 pump that I rebarreled in 25-06.
