I may be having issues with soft strikes caused by a weak spring. I have a thread going in the reloading section after noticing some soft strikes on new brass and also, noticing from Google research that this is not a new problem for some post 2008 production Model 70's. After much internet research have come to the conclusion I am not the first. I really would like to replace with a quality spring and harder strike.
From what I am seeing, the Wolff springs do not fit the post-2008 production model 70's. I was looking at the David Tubb 2 piece spring and I cannot get confirmation if it is compatible. I have emailed them and also tried phoning, but they have not replied, and the phone cannot connect to them ("your call cannot be completed as dialled"). I am out of country and so I wonder if they filter out anyone not in the US?
I could likely source another Winchester spring, but my hours of Google searching revealed that some just buy the new spring to cause the same problem.
Does anyone have experience with them, or, can you suggest a spring maker that can replace mine, if I have to replace it?
