Nice wood or just OK?

I would call that a good piece of wood Fotis. Might not be gnarly as some, it has alot of figure. That's a sweet rifle.

I've seen wood with more character. Still, I'd look hard at it, though I'm not certain it is worth that price.

The price usually varies for SG's from 1250-1500

I'm surprised the grain doesn't flow into the forend myself. I'd call it okay. If I'm going to pay that much more for the wood on the rifle it better be darn nice.

ditto I found it above average but that is it.

just ok, like to see more grain carry throughout the fore arm, grip area should have better straight lines for strength. Good for a factory rifle though

Yep Scotty, that's my definition of a Supergrade.

That rifle is some nice. Hope to find one once Nosler drops their 220 AB!

Fotis, I grab the pics and download them into an editor where I can blow them up and change the contrast and fill light. I agree with you and the others. The butt figure is there, but seems sort of random if you know what I mean. I like figure that sort of repeats itself. That looks kinda like somebody spilled stain and didn't get it wiped off everywhere! I know that it is the real figure, but that illustrates what I'm getting at. From the grip forward there isn't much fancy about it to my taste. I'd pass on it for the money.

Lovely wood, indeed. Lovely price, as well. That'd lighten the wallet.

I can sell my truck and maybe, maybe afford that
