Anyone here loading this bullet, if so how is your accuracy? How well does this bullet penetrate and hold weight?

I am shooting 240XTP's from my 629 Mountain Gun right now with great accuracy but I am a little leary of the HP design and was thinking the JSP would hold up and penetrate better.

Thanks

As far as jacketed bullets go ,I have gotten some great accuracy from the Sierra .44 and .41's.They don't open up worth a flip though.I have had deer soak them up and keep on going.I believe the Noslers will open up better.

I have used the Nosler 240 gr JHP in my 44 Mag. Great accuracy. I use the 250 gr PT for hunting and the 240 gr for plinking but it will work very nicely on WT deer and Black Bear.

I've ran 500-700 rounds of Nosler JHP 240 grn thro a 44 rem mag Henry rifle and a 44 Ruger SBH 7.5" barrel. The Henry has killed many skunks, porcupines etc. The porcupines had a hole that you could drop a Candian $2 coin (toonie) halfway thro the carcass, at that point it started to narrow down to bullet diameter. I wouldn't say that this test media would be as tough as a WT deer and definitely softer than a hog, but it worked well.

See if JD has any Milk jugs left to run a penetration test with

Option B: gather up a bunch of old phonebooks and test your loads on that media with a comparison to your normal XTP load. Be interested in pictures if you do run this test.

JT.
