I just received my order of new 8mm accubonds, I can't way to try them in my 8mm improved, what is the B.C. of these new bullets, they are much longer than the 180 BT's. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply Nosler1, so if I read correctly the 180 grain ballistic tip actually has a higher B.C. then the new AccuBond? 180 .394
200 AccuBond .379?? How is this possible?

The 8mm 180 BT has been lowered to .357 after additional shooting tests.

I does not make sense to me! If a .308 200 gr Accu. has a Ci of .588 then the 200 gr 8mm version should be higher or the .30 cal lower.

Nope! You got it backwards. Given the same shape (generally speaking) and the same weight; then the smaller the diameter the HIGHER the BC. Longer bullet.

I should have wrote, so that nobody could be confused, that if the .308 bullet has a .588 Ci then the 8mm's Ci should be higher than it is.

Some of these coefficients seem to be way off.

Here is the data on the Sierra .323 200 gr MK. The Nosler bullet may have a sharper meplat and therefore a similar Ci. Sierra tests their bullets for the Ci as I hear.

323 dia. (8mm) 200 gr. HPBT MatchKing .323 200 .313 .520 @ 2300 fps and above
.505 between 2300 and 1700 fps
.461 @1700 fps and below

Why is it that the winchester 325 AccuBond ammo has a BC of .477 and the regular AccuBond has a BC of .379?

Is this some conspiracy with winchester to buy their ammo?

Why is the 200 grain 8mm Partition a lot higher than the AccuBond? It should be the other way around.

You got me there!

I'm not sure where Nosler gets their numbers either, but I find it impossible to believe that the 150 grain 30 caliber AccuBond has a higher BC than the 8mm 200 grain AccuBond. It just doesn't add up. I think Winchester must have it right. Nosler, are you sure of your numbers?

We took the B.C. from our actual shooting tests in our lab.

If you take the Pro-Dos design, it is much higher. We are evaluating the number on our next run of bullets. I will post them as we get them.
