What's up with this. 168gr .308cal bal tips. Cabelas, midway, even nosler.com don't have any. Midway says backorder till september. I find it hard to believe that nosler isn't making them now or can't keep up with the demand. Any info would be appreciated.

I've had the same problem, trying to find some soft points for my .44mag. Nosler makes a .240 grn and Speer a .270grn , but I can't find either one anywhere.

For the 44 stuff, check Shooters Pro Shop, saw some there. They also have some 308/175 grain CC.

Bass Pro Shops has 168 Ballistic Tips in stock, I think their 19.99. Just checked on line, check it out.

Barthowes, everytime Nosler wants to run a particular bullet, they have to retool one of their lines, so some bullets will go out of stock for awhile until it comes up again in the rotation. Since big game season is over, right now I would expect them to be gearing up their inventory for varmit season. That's probably why we've been seeing alot of .224 seconds on the shooters proshop. About the time we are all our shooting varmits, they will be kicking out the big games bullets so they are on the shelves before deer and elk season...

I'm not sure how many production lines Nosler has, but it's probably not as many as you think, especially when you consider how many different bullets they make.

In retrospect, this probably has something to do with the Ballistic tips getting the same jackets they were putting on the Accubonds. Now a 140gr .277 BT and a 140gr .277 AB only require one jacket to be made, not two. Less time retooling, means more time making bullets!
