I also wonder why H4350 isn't listed with all applicable bullet weights. I would guess it's not an accident, so must mean that either the accuracy wasn't that good, or the Nosler guys didn't like the pressure readings / spikes or something. And I'm not judging those who use H4350 with 180s either--it's a great powder and should work fine with 180s. I know BR guys (German Salazar) uses H4350 with 190s, so it must work with 180s.
Salazar's blog (I think www.riflemansjournal.com) indicates he uses 52.5 grains H4350 with 190 grain Match Kings. I would guess 180s would be a grain or so more powder.
For hunting, Guy is right on with the Ramshot Hunter suggestion. 58.0 or so grains of Hunter gives me 2750 fps with Partitions, 2775 fps with Accubonds, both with good accuracy. Partition OAL 3.278 inches (I know, short!), AccuBond OAL 3.367 inches. All out of a 24-inch barrel. I also use CCI Magnum primers with Ramshot powders, as a suggestion from John Barsness, who writes Ramshot powders often prefer magnum primers.
H-4350 is my favorite powder for the .30-06 with both 165 PT and the 180 gr. PT.
I'm runnig a bit over 2800 fps with the 180 PT, but then I have slightly longer throat than most.
Starting at 52 grs. as David presented in that data for the Sierra, would be just fine for the 180 PT as well.
I haven't tried the Ramshot, but if I had some I might give it a try as well. But with the H-4350, I am exremely happy with my accuracy and velocity.
I have the Hodgon manual and am good, just surprised that they would not have best load data for 180's is all. I use 56.5-57 grs depending on the rifle, was just wondering if anyone new.
