Those measurements with the comparator on are perfectly in line. Take the comparator off and measure the overall length to the tip of the bullet and that is what is posted in the manuals and what everyone was talking about. Don't get me wrong, it is better to measure with the comparator.
 
When chambering a round to check for OAL I always use a sharpie on the sides of the bullet and I trim the case and do not debur. Then I chamber the round carefully and the case will scrape away the marker as the bullet slides back. Sometimes the lands will grab the bullet when you start to back out the bolt and then let go giving you an inaccurate OAL. The marker will document the furthest depth the bullet was seated and you will know if the bullet is sticking in the lands. I typically just try to rechamber the round or just carefully slide the bullet in until it matches its true seating depth and measure.
