OAL question for a Weatherby Vanguard

I am going to be loading up some loads to try in my new Vanguard .300 bee. What should I start with for my OAL for all these shells. I figured I would start with the same length for all of them and see which one shoots best and then fine tune it later. I have the Hornady Lock and Load OAL guage and comparator. Let me know what you think. I read in an old post that weatherby rifles like a really long OAL. I read measure the magazine and back it of .020" would that be good to do for my loads?

I would load to just under the magazine OL length. The .020" would be just right. Let us know how she shoots.
