OH Scottyyyyyy....

I believe you had posted them before; I just hadn't seen them.

That 30-06 definitely is another looker. Almost inspires me to go find a third -06.

Stop guys stop!! Still waitng on my first one. Wallet doesn't need to get any lighter. Still have plenty of items to sink my cash into and you guys are showing these beauties on here. It's not fair.

Nvbroncrider,

Let me sweeten the pot. These are shooters, as well. They carry easily and kill game with authority.

Now Scotty I know it's a laminate, but it's still pretty sharp, and it's also a Winchester 300 WSM! That nice lady that checkered my son Jeff's Ruger did this one also. That is my buddy Don's Winchester.

I love the dark browns of this factory laminate stock Scotty.

Yes I know! I'm PATIENTLY waiting on the 280 to get done, still haven't bought a scope, the rodeo trail is starting to call my name again. Plus it's time to start farming again. As I wait you guys show me this stuff and I wonder if I shouldn't go buy a Bob or a 7-08 or 6.5X55 real quick and satisfy this urge. I guess not enough time. Haven't pulled the trigger in over 2 months.

David, I have two of those Laminate M70's and would not ever give them up. Still need to call the person you informed me of for the checking though. My 270 and 7WSM's have identical sticks. Plus they both shoot very well and work fine as all weather rifles.

NV you need some trigger time mate!

David,

You're going to mess around and make me buy another laminated stocked rifle. That is a good looking job the lady did for you.

Hey Scotty, Betcha might like this one too.

I added this one and a steel framed '81 BLR in .358 to the safe today! I'm thinking I'll rebarrel the RUM to a .338 RUM and try out those 250 and 300gr NABs. Your 35 Whelen is shoot'n sweet!

Scott, I say this with all the love I can muster, I HATE YOU! Man, a 300RUM in a Sporter Classic is a great find. I really like them Sporter stocks, they really shoot nice for me. Must be that big comb to support my noggin!

Great SCORE on the 358 as well. I have a little rifle envy though. Brian and I scoured the web looking for a M70 300RUM for him and he ended up going with a M1999 300RUM. I am sure it is going to be a sweet rifle, but I really wanted to get a piece of big Red!

Seeing how well Brian's current 300RUM shoots, I wouldn't sell it short. They are some unreal performers linked with 180-200gr bullets.

Jeez, we must have the only two M70 .300 RUMs in Oregon!

+1 for hating the two guys that have M70s in 300 RUM  Don't rebarrel!!! For the love of RUM! Don't put down that 300 RUM since I can give it good home and nurture it back to healthy hunting grounds

I would probably fight you for either one! You are about to have two of them!

Brian & Scotty,
I've been looking for a Win 70 Rum for about 3 months - you're right they don't come up very often. This was only the second to come up on G.B. in that time frame. The first was that one I showed you a while back but it was a Supergrade and went for nearly $1500  . This one being a standard sporter went for half that! I've a search saved on G.B. that pings me on email every time one hits the board. I really want a Model 70 338RUM but they're even rarer. I like everything bigger than an '06 to be a CRF of some kind - for some reason. This year was the first time I ever purchased a Remington. In a perfect world my safe would have nothing but Winchesters, Kimbers,Mausers and Rugers in it. I think Montana makes a very good rifle - I have one in 300WSM. They might be the answer for a 338RUM in a CRF.
The BLR is an exact copy of my first gun I ever owned except this one is in 358 vs. 308.
Kurt,
We should get the Model 70 RUMs together to sing a duet. Have any go to loads for 200gr ABs?

Scott

I have a pile of 200ABs, but I still haven't bought dies yet. Heck, I haven't even mounted a scope (that I have already, thank you Scotty) on it yet.

And I think mine may get a Decelerator on it, collector value be damned. I need a longer LOP. And something to cut down on the abuse.

Scott,

I was trying to find M70s in 300 RUM but never had any luck. Stumble on that Super Grade you tried to get. Scotty gave me the heads up you wanted it so I watched it but didn't bid. Went for more than what I thought it would. I just gave up looking and bought the Montana in 300 RUM.

Kurt,

What are you waiting for buddy? Go get some dies, mount that scope, and find out just how good that rifle will shoot. All you need is some Retumbo or RL-25 since you already have the 200 ABs.

Kurt, if it hasn't been done yet, I would do pillars and bed it right out of the gate. No sense in wasting your powder and bullets chasing the bull. With a set of pillars, some glass and a recoil bad you will have a truly awesome hammer.
