Very nice POP but I sure hope Nodak7mm doesn't see your post and Ram161's in the Reloader section or he'll be shedding big tears. He was thinking about one of those Number 1A's in the 7x57 and then he got cold feet and was afraid they wouldn't shoot because of the twist rate Ruger puts in them. Looks like Ram161 has it figured out though.

Very nice looking rifle and what a great cartridge. Congratulations! I too am pissed at Ruger for pulling the plug on the #1B. What were they thinking! :twisted: :evil:

Pop it is listed in the spec sheet on the rifle as a 1-8.75" rate.

I wouldn't think that would be too bad of a twist rate as most .284/7mm's are 1-9 or 1-9 1/2 or thereabouts so it's not that much faster. I sure think that 140 gr. AccuBond would be a great bullet in it for anything you would use it on! Put a scope on it and shoot it so we can see how it works for you!

Man, I would be alright with that twist! That would shoot the longer 150's and 160's really well and with a #1, built like a tank you could really load the 7mm Mauser to its true potential! Scotty
