Dang......if only Dad would have had a crystal ball and had bought 50 boxes of these (red box) when Nosler was in Ashland. I suppose $4.50 a box was "a lot" between 1948-1958 but they sure look inexpensive by today's dollars!

Three red Ashland, OR boxes of .257:
1 box of 100 grain "Semi Point Spitzer" partitions
2 boxes of 117 grain "Semi Blunt S. P." partitions (one unopened)
Price written on the boxes is $4.50.

Three yellow Bend, OR boxes of .257:
1 box of 100 grain "Soft Point Blunt Nose" partitions
1 box of 115 grain "Soft Point Spitzer" partitions
1 box of 117 grain "Soft Point Semi Spitzer" partitions
Price written on these boxes is $4.65.

Definitely "old school" but I'm betting they definitely still work just hunky dory!

Probably not new info to most this audience but too cool to not show photos of them, IMO.

God Bless
Steve

Very cool find. I have some, from the mid 70's. They're 6mm, 85 grain, and also some older .375" Partitions as well.

Was cautioned by one reliable source that the old "screw turned" Partitions are a bit brittle, sometimes the whole front disintegrates with no mushroom, so just the caliber size core pushes on through.

I also found that the newer ones shoot better, more accurately. But still, I like my old boxes of Noslers.

Wow!! That is nice. Well before my time in the reloading fun. My first job (other than my paper route) only paid $1.65 an hour in 1970.
I liked shooting the solid base boat tails after I found some on e-Bay.

I love seeing things like this. I’ve picked up several boxes of old ammo at yard sales and such. Reminds me of deer hunting with my dad as a kid. We’d pull out that old army ammo can. Load our rifles with the then 20 year old ammo and head out. That was 40 years ago.

Very cool. I bought some 257 call 117 gr PTs a few years ago. I loaded some in the 257 Roberts and hunted with them 4 years ago. Shot a big 8 PT swamp buck with that rifle and load.
