Had a chance to hunt moose in Northern Ontario in September. We fish in this area for walleye (pickerel if you are a Canadian) every summer and see several moose every time we are there. Used a 210 grain Partition in a Sako chambered for .338-06. Shot in the neck at about 75 yards, dropped instantly. My buddy was amazed after all the videos he had been watching on moose hunts with guys shooting "big" calibers. Retained weight of the bullet was 147 grains. Love this combo for everything big!

No guide, we fish up there every year and know the area fairly well. We flew out of Nakina with an outfitter that has fishing cabins he rents out for hunting in the fall. I am not a big spender when it comes to paying for guides and outfitters, but we did this one for $2500 which included the license.

Or as a couple co-workers have said;
Ugly beast with a great looking bull!! :grin:

Thats a great Eastern Canadian Moose! Congrats and Semper Fi to you also. Your picture motivates us Marines to get back home for hunting seasons next fall!.. Scotty
