Where is a good spot here in oregon to go agter ferel hogs or Javelina??? I have a new hand load for my 92 in 44 mag(240gr XTP) itching for some blood.

Suppose to be a small batch near bend somewhere and the Feral hogs I know of are east of Ashland mostly on private land and are very skittish, will take off if they smell or hear a human. I know of a couple taken between ashland and k-falls. I saw 3(looked like russian boar) run across the road just pass emigrant lake on 66. again this was private property. The story I have heard is the Dunhowers released some russian boar a long time ago and they have mixed with a couple of other hogs since then. They are few and far between I have hunted and trapped this area for 12 years now and have yet to see any or sign on public land. I have heard that most people who get shots at them are usually over 200 or more yards away, these animals won't let you get close. if you find some on public land let me know.

I took out a friend and his 13 year old kid. The kid got a nice boar about 240 lbs. You might find it easier to find a bear then hogs.

Try some 250 gr PT's in your 44 Mag. They do a number on the pork. Terminal performance on hogs and deer is very good.

21.0 grs H110 w/ the 250 gr PT from my S&W 629 Classic and Leupold M8 2x scope has shot 1 ragged hole groups at 50 yds.
