My bro drew a speed goat tag for oregon this year. Did a few days of scouting and tons of glassing (got a tan line around my eyes from binos and spotting scope). Found this guy the evening of the the opener. After debating on taking him and stalking him for two hours we had him dead to rights at 400, but some guys came driving along with their four-wheelers and spooked him right back at us. I had to try to stop him at 170 yards. Aaron put one 130gr. TTSX out of the .308 win. right through the pump station. goat ran about seventy yards and fell over. Measured 70 3/8" Not a monster but a great first goat and very memorable hunt!

six more long years and I should get my crack at one

Congratulations! I understand those tags are hard to get...

I keep trying for bighorn sheep and mountain goat tags here in Washington, but am going to have to live a looooong time to have a decent shot at getting one of those highly prized tags.

Pronghorn... This was going to be the year I finally went to Wyoming for pronghorn... Then my buddy talked me into mule deer hunting again instead. Ah well, it should be a good deer hunt anyway!

Again, congrats to the hunters, looks like a dandy pronghorn to me!

Thanks fellas! My bro came back with two other pronghorn to mount from other guys on that trip as well as his own. I'll get some pics up when he gets them done!

Nice buck.
He looks like a trophy to me. How long are the horns? They look to be 15 or more inches which would be a very nice antelope buck.
Greg

Greg we guessed him at about 14.5" but when we got a tape on him his longest horn was 13.5"

A good first trophy for sure. Next time we'll be twelve years older (thats how long it should take to draw again) and have more patients, and a previous buck to try to beat!

Thats a nice goat and you never know when you might draw another tag I know a guy it took 12 years to get a tag and then drew one the very next year  I'v still got 4 years left :( .

my bro drew it with six points. I still hope to draw it every year but the card always reads the same.

Congrats! That is a really nice looking goat!! Send us a pic when hes back from the taxidermist. CL
