Oregon's Spring Bear season is right around the corner...I drew an Alsea/Stott Mountain Tag and I'm planning to hunt close to the beach. It should be an interesting hunt for sure.

With the spring weather starting to finally get nice it will be a great excuse to get out in the woods again!

Congratulations on the bear tag.
Good luck this season. What is your bear load?

Best of luck to you. I've never hunted Oregon. Is this a good area? As JD338 said, let us know your bear load. For sure, give us an update as you hunt, and be sure to post some pictures.

It should be an interesting hunt. I'm planning to hunt some creek drainages that spill out into the Pacific Ocean, that are claimed to hold quite a few bears.

I'll be using a Browning BAR Safari, in .338 Win Mag. Will head out this weekend to determine which load I'll use. It's between the 210 Nosler PT over 72.0 Grains of RL19, and the 225 Barnes TSX over 72.0 grains of RL-19. The TSX shoots right around 3/4" out of my A-Bolt and the PT shoots around 1.5". With shots that won't be over 75 yards either load should be fine in the BAR.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post pictures in April! Thanks for the well wishes.
