my buddy called me yesterday to tell me about his son that just accomplished the Pa tripple trophy . the Pa tripple trophy is a bear , buck , turkey on the same hunting license . Pa used to give a plaque or a patch for this as an award, but I don't think they do this anymore . this boy would be about 14 years old , and has really gotten into hunting . he and his buddy also got into boiling skulls this past year . they are going to buy the beetles for skulls this year . these two boys are all about the outdoors . I think it's great to see this , and just wanted to share .

this bear would have been shot Nov 2015 .

this buck would have been shot Dec 2015 .

his first turkey . turkey was shot yesterday . youth day April 23 , 2015

That is excellent! The young man has done very well over the past months. That bear has a beautiful melon. That is a very respectable deer. And the turkey is just superb. He has earned the right to be called a hunter, that's for sure.

It is refreshing to see a young man focused on the outdoors and hunting rather than all the distractions of video games and such in this crazy world. Wishing him all the best for growth and continued success.. Rol

That is fantastic. Congratulations to the the young hunter.

Congrats to that lad. That is one awesome accomplishment for the Northeastern Hunter of any age!

thanks fellas , I'm sure happy for him . he and his Dad stopped by for a quick visit this morning , he is 15 years old .

For those not familiar, bear hunting in PA isn't an easy thing.

Many hunters never kill a bear in their entire hunting career. I think we only take maybe 2000-3000 per year for 750,000 licensed hunters, if that tells you anything about how big a thing killing a bear is in this neck of the woods.

That young man has a lifelong memory there that he can be very proud of.

impressive! quite the lucky young man to already have his first bear under his belt. I'm hoping my dad travels back out to my uncle's this year to try turkey hunting again, he won't have the triple in one year but would at least have them each accounted for.
