These would be for my 1:12 twist 223rem rifle and fur friendly for yotes.

First either the SX or Blitz 55gr, than any 60-64 gr bullet thats short enough for the 12 twist so its just SP's and HP's that fill that nitch. Nosler has at least one 60gr HP?

I have a super accurate load using the berger 52gr HPV. I have yet to shoot a yote with it and I hope it won't make a huge interance hole if at say 200 or more yards. (3270fps MV)

I shoot 52gr Sierra Matchkings at 3950fps outta my 22-250. Doesn't make a huge hole over 200yds.

Never shot a yote but the 55 Sierra blitz bullet does just that to a groundhog. BLITZ goes his head with a hit. It will decapitate him. They were really accurate for me with AA2230 out of an old Savage 223 rifle 12" twist I let get away from me. I wish I had never let that rifle get away. It was very accurate with lot of different bullets.

My 22-250 really likes the. Sierra 55 gr Blitzkings. Was thinking about trying the 55 gr Varmageddon

Anyone with opinions. Shoot a few yotes but not for fur

The 64 grain boned solid base nosler is fur friendly. CFE most accurate and highst velocity in current noselr manual. It is stable in a 1-12 and was designed to be shot in everything the FBI has from short barrel AR's with only a 1-9. It is fairly expensive but you can look for deals like I did at pro shop. It is worth the effort.

I think you can over do trying to find a fur friendly bullet. The 223 is on low end of velocity for a high velocity 223 so you can hardly go wrong really.

I have recently used the 75 grain BTHP which your rifile could not stablize and the 53 grain V Max which needs a slightly faster twist also. the 554 grain Nosler BT and Hornady V max are obvious choices but in my experience the BT expands more slowly than a plain old soft point.

Id use a plain Jane 55 or 60 grain sp.

The nosler Partition migh be a good choce. once the front end blows off youve got a small frontal area on the caliber diameter parition. You can get 3100 fps from it at SAMMI pressures. I shot the nosler 60 grain solid base for years in my AR -15 A1 whch was 1-12. Used it for everything, sage rats, rock chucks, coyotes. They dont make it any more and replaced it w 60 grain BT.

The Nosler 64 gr BSB is pretty impressive out of a 22-250 at a MV 3372 fps.
The recovered bullet was shot into water jugs at 30 yds and was recovered in the 5th jug,
weighing in at 50.2 grs (72%) and expanded to .481".

Here is a exit wound on a coyote shot with the 64 gr BSB at 50 yds.

Keep in mind that your velocity will be lower than the 22-250 so fur damage will be a little less.

I shot this coon last night with a 50 v-max from my 1:12 223. The shot was straight on chest at maybe 20 yards or so. The bullet did not exit but the entrance was half dollar size. It should work very well on coyotes and fox a little further out and out to 300 yards. This is the first test on an animal I've had so far with this combination. For powder, I'm using H322 and have shot 3 into 1 hole at 100 yards on paper.
