My buddy and I took our dogs out for pheasants this morning, just below where I hunted mule deer. Thirty seven degrees and raining... PERFECT for a pheasant hunt. The birds were holding tight. Our dogs found them and we, well, we missed a few.

Shortly after this bird, my dog pointed two and my buddy got both of them on a great double!

I got a couple with my Beretta:

Have to give credits to the dogs for finding the birds and getting them up. I think we would have walked right by the birds in the rain, if it hadn't been for the dogs:

My buddy got three and I dropped two. Could have had a third myself, but missed. A great time was had by all. I think the dogs had the most fun.

Congrats on a good hunt and a beautiful dog. I haven't hunted pheasants since the 1970s around hear when the no till farming practices killed off all our quail and pheasants. :(

A working dog is a beautiful sight. Those pheasants will provide some excellent table fare, no doubt. Congratulations to you fellows.

What a great hunt! It reminds me of pheasant hunting with my Dad when I was a kid. The first day of pheasant hunting was a special day in our family. The Principal of our school let me take both the first day of pheasant season AND the first day of deer season off. I was the only kid allowed to take TWO days off to go hunting. I always wondered if it had anything to do with Dad being the President of the Board of Education......

Back to you, isn't it a real joy to hunt with good dogs?

Congratulations on a very successful hunt.

WOW! Awesome stuff Guy.. Don't see many pictures of you with a firearm that doesn't have a bolt action or 6x42...

Looks like fun man! Really enjoyable.... Always enjoyed watching Dads dogs myself. It is the way to go if you can swing it. Glad you are enjoying. CL
