Please explain this to me regarding the E-TIP

Well I don't know if the conclusion I came to is correct , but it's the only logical deduction i can come up with.

First comparing the ET to the X, I would say not only is the expanded frontal area responsible to some degree, I also think the ET opens much quicker being evidently softer. Opening quicker will slow it much the same as the larger frontal area.

Barnes bullets open up pretty darn fast...they don't have to rip the copper back like most bullets. They only have to tear a very thin layer of copper to expand...they have 4 "cuts" inside the hollow point, the petals are only held together by a tiny bit of copper...those "cuts" are the reason they always expand with 4 neat petals...

I don't mean to sing too many praises of Barnes bullets on a Nosler forum...I REALLY like my Ballistic Tips for deer size game...but Barnes TSX, MRX, TTSX bullets are waaaay ahead of the curve on heavier game such as moose, grizzly and the like.

I have heard stories of TSX's not expanding at all at low velocity...but I have seen 165 grain MRX's expand fully with impact velocities as low as 1,300 fps....(water jugs at 800 yards)

Hey guys, a lot of you have hunted up here in Manitoba or Saskatchewan & Alberta & can attest to the size of some of our bucks. Can you imagine the size of our phone books?!?! :p Wow!!!

I wonder how big the phone books are in Africa. I hear that in some countries they are all hunted out from poaching. There seems to be a market for the front and back covers in the far east.
