Can't seem to figure it out, although I've followed all the instructions and post regularly on other sites.

Just when you get a chance....

Coyote taken with a 150gr 7mm E-Tip from a 7mm-08 at 200 yards.

Expanded 180gr .30 Cal. E-Tip.

etc...

Thanks in advance....

ENJOY ...............POP

HOPEFULLY HE WILL JUMP IN HERE AND GIVE US A NARRATIVE

That is very interestig that the E-tip turns into a blob.

I Kinda like the way the Barnes X has cutting petals but the way the E-Tip mushrooms is probably more reliable for expansion.

I have never had any complaints with the Barnes X but this go around I have bought 4 boxes of E-tips to use in my 300 Win Mag.

Looks good, nice mushroom, but I am assuming it was a pass through and he found the bullet in the ground somewhere behind the coyote, at least I hope it was a pass through on a coyote at 200yds. Interesting indeed, will be waiting for more narrative for sure.

Alright, a big thank you to Pop for posting these for me.

The coyote was shot by my buddy with his 7mm-08 and 150gr E-Tips at 200 yards. What you see in the photo is the exit hole. (2,700fps+-)

The expanded bullet is a 180gr .30 caliber E-Tip I'd shot out of my .300 Win Mag. (3,000fps) I did find it in the dirt about 200 yards from the muzzle. I also found a very nicely expanded 7mm one.

What I'd found interesting (encouraging) was the expasion that appeared to have happened on the coyote. I was worried the bullets would be too hard to expand on smaller animals. Although it does not look like much, the exit hole is about the size of a half dollar.

Also, the weight retention of the .30 caliber bullet is excelent.

Pop, thanks again buddy, you are a life saver on this forum!!!

Colin:

Thank you for the insight. Can you post the loads involved?

Let's see if I can remember....

Federal Cases, CCI Primers, 72.5gr of RL22, 180gr E-Tip. Chronographed just a hair under 3,000fps.

I can't remember my buddies load for the 7mm-08, but I do remember we chrono'd it between 2,650fps and 2,700fps.

Wow....my program is so close!

I've killed 2 coyotes and a small buck with .277 E-tips and have the bullet from the buck & if I can figure out why my computer (or me) can get the pictures here to show I will. The E-tip I recovered broke a pedal but both peices weighed in at 128 grns
