Bought another pound of H-4350, I probably have about 200 grains plus or minus of same powder from a previous purchase. Is there a problem with adding the small amount to the new pound or is it best just throw the old away and start loading with the new so all loadings will be the same powder.

I would not mix them personally but I would load a few more round with it there is no use throwing it out.

:)
Blessings,
Dan

I mix them all the time but only those of the same manufacturer and same number. I would pour the couple hundred grains of H-4350 into the new H-4350, give it a couple shakes and start loading. 200grains into a pound of the same powder won't change anything.Rick.

You need to load the new lot and see if your velocities are basically the same as the last lot. If not don't mix it because you will have inconsistency in your loads and your knew lot will be up and down on extreme spread and deviation leaving your accuracy in flux. Some lots do vary beyond 5% even with the good powders like Hogdon at times. Just not a good practice for more than one reason.

7000 grs of powder in a pound. If you put your 200grs into the new lot that would be less than a 5% difference probably about the same as lot to lot variation. Shake them together and you have a different lot of powder. It will not mess with your accuracy, velocity or extreme spread any more or less than any other new lot of powder. Shot way too many over a chronograph over many years to think it will make any more difference than any other new lot of powder. I don't mix different manufacturers of powders or mix different types of powders. But the same number from the same manufacturer, done it for years.Rick.
